What Shift Savvy keeps, and why
Plain answers about the information in your account, what the app records while you use it, and who else handles it. Last updated 30 September 2026.
What you give us
- Your email address and a password. The password is stored only as a one-way hash.
- If you choose Continue with Google instead, Google tells us your email address and its own ID for your Google account. We ask for nothing else, and your Google password never reaches us.
- The contracts, paystubs, timesheets, shifts, expenses and household details you upload or type in. Uploaded files are stored with Amazon Web Services.
What the app records while you use it
- The internet address and kind of device (web browser, iPhone app or Android app) you used when you signed up and each time you sign in.
- When you were last here, and from which address and device.
- Which screens you open. These records are deleted after 90 days.
- Actions such as uploading a paystub, reaching a verdict or creating a dispute letter.
- The ad or invite link that brought you here, if there was one.
We use this to keep accounts secure, to spot abuse such as many accounts made by one person to collect invite rewards, and to learn which parts of the app help people. The app loads no third-party analytics or advertising scripts.
We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with advertisers.
Who else handles it
These companies run parts of the service for us and handle your information only to do so.
- Heroku
- Runs the app and its database.
- Amazon Web Services
- Stores the files you upload.
- OpenAI
- Reads uploaded documents to pull out the figures.
- Stripe
- Takes payments. Your card number never reaches us.
- Mailgun
- Sends the app's emails.
- Sentry
- Receives error reports when something breaks.
- Signs you in, if you choose Continue with Google.
- Plaid
- Connects bank accounts, where that is offered. Your bank password never reaches us.
When our staff look at an account
To help with a support question, an administrator can view the app as you see it. Each time is logged with who did it and when. While viewing, they cannot change your email address or password.
Deleting your account
Account → Delete account removes your account, the files you uploaded and everything recorded about your use of the app, including the addresses and activity described above.
